James Brumm, Chair

James BrummJim is President of Glastonbury Commons, a consulting firm. He is also an advisor to Mitsubishi Corporation in Japan and serves on their CSR and Environmental Affairs Advisory Committee. He worked at Mitsubishi International Corporation in the U.S. for over 30 years, and is their former Executive Vice President and General Counsel. He was a director of Mitsubishi International Corporation from 1982 to 2010 and was a director of Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan from 1995 to 2002. Prior to joining Mitsubishi, Jim practiced with law firms in New York and Tokyo.

Jim serves on the boards of NatureServe, the Red-crowned Crane Conservancy in Japan, and CLAWS, a small organization dedicated to resolving human and wild predator conflict.

Jim was President of the Mitsubishi Corporation Foundation for the Americas from 1992 to 2010, as well as Trustee of the Mitsubishi Corporation Fund for Europe and Africa from 2002 to 2010. Jim was Chairperson of the Board of the American Bird Conservancy and has served on the boards of Forest Trends, First Peoples Worldwide, the International Fund for Animal Welfare, and Tembec Inc., a publicly traded Canadian forest products company.
