Headquarters’ June 27 Grand Opening Cancelled

Our iconic crane entrance gates have welcomed thousands of visitors to our headquarters in Baraboo, Wisconsin. The gates were designed by artist Victor Bakhtin and were brought to life by metal artist Robert Bergman of Postville Blacksmith Shop.

We are saddened that we will not be celebrating our Grand Opening on June 27 as planned. We found it necessary to cancel this summer’s grand opening plans for our site, Cranes of the World, as our celebration included a gathering of more than 500 people at one time.

We are rescheduling our grand opening celebration for the spring of 2021.We are very excited about our renovation, but we need to place the safety of our guests above opening our gates,” explained Chief Operating Officer Kim Smith. “Like many attractions, we realize we needed to postpone our grand opening to a future date when large groups can safely gather.”

We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic closely and are exploring opportunities for the fall, including potential opportunities for our members to visit the site. We will keep everyone informed as we finalize those plans. We look forward to welcoming you back on our site when it’s safe to do so. View our Facebook album for photos of the renovation.

Although we also found it necessary to cancel our Evening with the Cranes event on Saturday, September 19, due to COVID-19, we are offering a new virtual celebration, Let’s Whoop it Up!, on Saturday, July 23. Click here to learn more about this event!
