Whooping Crane Ambassador Training @ Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Ctr.

You are invited to become a Whooping Crane Ambassador for the International Crane Foundation! We need you to help us raise awareness and appreciation for cranes in your local communities.

Please join us for this FREE three-hour training, in which you will become a crane expert and help us plan our outreach activities for the winter 2019-20 season.

The first hour will be for new volunteers, although all are welcome to attend. We will provide an overview of Whooping Crane ecology and conservation history.

Dinner, beverages and a t-shirt will be provided!

Wondrous Wetlands Watercolor Workshop @ Olbrich Botanical Gardens

Join artist Janet Flynn and the International Crane Foundation staff for a morning of watercolor creation and Whooping Crane discovery. You will leave with your own watercolor and a new appreciation for the importance of wetlands for cranes and humans. No experience needed to enjoy this workshop – beginners are encouraged to join. Join us at the Conserve Sauk Film Festival on Nov. 9, 2019! The festival will include screenings of feature-length films, including “Journey of the Whooping Crane” by Red Sky Productions, and finalists from the Conserve Sauk film competition. Return of the Cranes Presentation and Crane Viewing @ Oakland City Public Library

Join us to learn about our Indiana Whooping Cranes! Our Whooping Crane Outreach staff will lead a program on how to identify Whooping and Sandhill Cranes, the history of their decline and return, and where you may see these wonderful birds in Indiana. The program will begin at 9 a.m. Central time at Oakland City Public Library in Oakland City, Indiana, and last one hour.  Afterward, we will gather together for a caravan over to Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge to see the cranes! Plan for caravanning to take up to 45 minutes to the refuge, plus however much time you want to watch the cranes.  Come join the flock and become a Craniac!
