The Treinen Farm “Crane Dance” corn maze opens Aug. 31 – we promise it will be a-maze-ing. The farm is open weekends beginning Labor Day Weekend through early Nov.

Look for our staff sharing information on all things crane every weekend beginning Sept. 28 through Oct. 27 from 12 noon to 4 p.m.!

The festival will include screenings of feature-length films, including “Journey of the Whooping Crane” by Red Sky Productions, and finalists from the Conserve Sauk film competition. GivingTuesday is a global day of giving! Please join us as we celebrate our accomplishments of the past year and look forward to the future.

GivingTuesday was founded as a simple idea: to bring people together for a day of giving back. It has since spread like a wave across the world, with over 160 countries in 2018. Now in its 8th year, nearly every country on earth is participating in GivingTuesday.

Return of the Cranes Presentation and Crane Viewing @ Oakland City Public Library

Join us to learn about our Indiana Whooping Cranes! Our Whooping Crane Outreach staff will lead a program on how to identify Whooping and Sandhill Cranes, the history of their decline and return, and where you may see these wonderful birds in Indiana. The program will begin at 9 a.m. Central time at Oakland City Public Library in Oakland City, Indiana, and last one hour.  Afterward, we will gather together for a caravan over to Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge to see the cranes! Plan for caravanning to take up to 45 minutes to the refuge, plus however much time you want to watch the cranes.  Come join the flock and become a Craniac!

Learn about the Whooping Crane’s unique biology and ecology, and how the International Crane Foundation has contributed to conservation efforts for the rarest crane species in the world.
