Baraboo, Wisconsin – The International Crane Foundation will be hosting a virtual summer camp via Zoom Aug. 26 and 27. Crane Camp 2020 is an hour-long virtual camp, led by International Crane Foundation’s outreach educators. Crane Camp 2020 will be open to children entering grades K-5 and is free of charge.
Crane Camp will be a fun, interactive virtual camp filled with crane-related games and activities. International Crane Foundation educators will lead icebreaker activities and hands-on learning about cranes and their wetland homes. The younger campers will participate in an interactive storytime, while the older campers will practice role-playing as field scientists and observing cranes in the wild. All campers will receive a special Crane Camp Kit by mail that they will use during the camp. Families may choose from four sessions. Sessions One and Three are identical, as are Sessions Two and Four:
Session One (grades K to 2): Wednesday, Aug. 26, 10 to 11 a.m. CDT
Session Two (grades 3 to 5): Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2 to 3 p.m. CDT
Session Three (grades K to 2): Thursday, Aug. 27, 10 to 11 a.m. CDT
Session Four (grades 3 to 5): Thursday, Aug. 27, 2 to 3 p.m. CDT
Crane Campers are limited to 25 spots per session, and registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration for International Crane Foundation members begins on July 27 and opens for non-members on July 30. Due to mailing restrictions for the Crane Camp Kits, registration is limited to U.S. residents.
To register, please submit this Google Form by Monday, Aug. 10. If you wish to register multiple children for Crane Camp, please submit one form per child. Within one to two days of registering for Crane Camp, you will receive an email confirming your registration.
