Whooping Crane Arrival! December 19, 2006

This morning at 9:30 a.m. a crowd of approximately 500 people gathered at the Dunnellon Airport in Dunnellon, Florida to watch as three bright yellow ultralights guided 17 Whooping Cranes to their temporary winter home at the Halpata-Tastanki Preserve near Dunnellon. After 76 days on the road the crew with Operation Migration and 17 Whooping Cranes can finally take a much-needed vacation. Congratulations to all on another successful migration!
