Ultralight-led Migration Update, October 20, 2009

The ultralight-led migration is unfortunately off to a slow start this year.  On October 16, five birds departed from the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge in the morning.  Later that afternoon Operation Migration’s ultralights led another two birds to the first stopover site.  On October 17, four additional birds made it to stop #1.  This morning one more bird made the trip.  The total is now 12 birds at migration stopover #1 and eight birds on the Necedah NWR.

Once all the ultralight-led birds are off of the refuge, the DAR birds will be released.  Stay tuned for further updates…
