The International Crane Foundation is currently involved in two reintroductions involving Whooping Cranes in North America.

 
Migratory Whooping Cranes
The Whooping Crane Eastern Partnership, an international coalition of public and private groups, is organizing the effort to reintroduce an additional migratory population of Whooping Cranes in eastern North America.

Reintroduction efforts for this flock of whooping cranes began in 1993. Up to 20 chicks were released to central Florida each year in order to create a new population of non-migratory whooping cranes.
