ICF has coordinated many additional projects in China that are no longer active:
- 1983-1984. Zhalong Nature Reserve Wetland Waterbird Survey. Volunteer field surveys organized by Earthwatch Tours.
- 1986/1988. Environmental Education at Zhalong Nature Reserve. Coordinated with the National Audubon Society.
- 1987 International Crane Workshop. Organized by the International Crane Foundation and Heilongjiang Provincial Forestry Department. Two-hundred delegates from over 20 countries participated in this nine-day workshop held in Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province.
- 1991-1993. Coordinated Winter Count of Black-necked Cranes in Tibet.
- 1994-1995. Crane Habitat Survey in Northeast Yunnan. Coordinated with Cao Hai Nature Reserve and Guizhou Forestry Department.
- 1996. Managing Wintering Black-necked Cranes in Agricultural Areas in Tibet.
- 1995-1996. Sanjiang Plain Environmental Survey and Environmental Assessment and Guidelines, Heilongjiang Province (funded by Overseas Economic Cooperation Funds of Japan).
- 1999-2000. Naoli River Wetland Conservation and Monitoring Project. Sanjiang Plain, Naoli River (funded by Japan International Bank of Cooperation, formerly Overseas Economic Cooperation Funds of Japan).
- 1997- 2001. Wetland/Waterbird Survey, Environmental Education and Establishment of a Crane and Wetland Conservation Site Network along Bohai Bay (funded by Philips Petroleum Company).
- 2002 International Crane Workshop. Organized by the International Crane Foundation and China Ornithological Society. More than 80 people from 12 countries participated in this two-day workshop held in Beijing.
- 2001 - 2003. Coordinated Crane Count in Yunnan and Guizhou Provinces. Developed with the Yunnan Forestry Bureau and Guizhou Environmental Protection Bureau.
- 2003 - Promoting Ecotourism in Tibet through a Culturally Responsive Conservation Education Program and Professional Training. Coordinated with the Tibet Plateau Institute of Biology, The Mountain Institute and World Wildlife Fund China.
- 2005 - 2007. Flying with Cranes: Black-necked Crane Migration and Ecology Study. Project included an online education activity for schools in China and the United States to track the annual Black-necked Crane migrations.
