Protecting Cranes in Africa
Kerryn has worked with the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) in South Africa since 1995 and has also been involved with raptors, the responsible use of agrochemicals, and Ground-Hornbills. Cranes, however, have taken up the majority of her time, and she moved from a study in a localised area in South Africa, to managing the EWT’s South African Crane Working Group, and then coordinating the Africa Crane Conservation Program, an ICF/EWT Partnership. She completed her undergraduate B.Sc. Degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Her Master’s degree, which included a study of the cranes in the eastern highlands of South Africa, was completed through the Centre for Wildlife Management at the University of Pretoria.
