ICF Bird-a-thon (April 1 - June 30)
Calling all bird enthusiasts! No matter your skill level, you can participate in the ICF Bird-a-thon and help support our global conservation programs. Choose one 24-hour period between April 1st and June 30th to bird for as long or as short as you wish. Our most dedicated bird watchers and fund raisers will be eligible to win prizes. 2014 Midwest Crane Count 5:30 am - 7:30 am
Join over 2,000 volunteers spanning the upper Midwest for the 2014 Annual Midwest Crane Count on April 12th (5:30 - 7:30 am CDT) as we monitor the return of Sandhill and Whooping Cranes to their northern breeding grounds. Visit www.cranecount.org for more information.
ICF 2014 Visitor Season Opens 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
ICF is open to the public between April 15 and October 31 from 9 am to 5 pm. Learn about cranes and ICF’s global conservation programs on a guided tour with a naturalist. Nelson Institute Earth Day Conference 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
Don't miss the UW-Madison's Nelson Institute Earth Day conference "Earth: To Be Determined" on April 22, 2014. The all-day event will include exhibits (stop by ICF's booth for more information about our global conservation programs), student and alumni awards, and panel discussions on a variety of topics. The conference will be held at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center in Madison, WI. Learn more and register for the event.
Party for the Planet Earth Day Celebration 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Party for the Planet™ is the largest combined Earth Day celebration in North America! Every year, more than 100 AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums across the country celebrate Party for the Planet™ with activities, giveaways and special events designed for kids of all ages. Stop by ICF and experience the cranes of the world, take a guided tour with a naturalist, and explore our nature trails and gift shop.
Sauk County Earth Day 11:00 am - 3:00 pm
Join ICF at the annual Sauk County Earth Day celebration on April 27, 2014 at the UW-Baraboo/Sauk County Campus in Baraboo, WI (11:00 am to 3:00 pm). Stop by ICF's display to learn about our volunteer opportunities, events, and global conservation programs.
National Geographic - Exploring Mars: Rovers of the Red Planet 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
A dynamic engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Kobie Boykins takes the audience inside the world of 21st-century space exploration, showing how NASA scientists and engineers tackle a wide range of challenges that include an extremely harsh environment, great distance, remote technology and a largely unexplored terrain. Stop by ICF's booth during the event for more information about volunteer opportunities, events, and to learn about our global conservation efforts.
