Field Trips

Challenging and Enjoyable Professional educators are crucial partners in achieving the goals of ICF's mission. Thank you for your interest in visiting the International Crane Foundation (ICF) with your group. Our Education Department staff and volunteers have extensive experience with school groups and will provide a tour that is both challenging and enjoyable for your students, scouts or club members. The following information will help you schedule your group's visit to ICF. We have many field trip options available, and look forward to assisting you with your visit. Admission Fees School and youth tours are defined as organized groups of students (pre-school through high school), including Boy and Girl Scouts, 4-H groups, community centers, etc. Please call ICF's Education Department if you believe that your group qualifies for the discounted admission fee, but is not listed. Students are admitted at $2.00 each. One adult is admitted free of charge for every 12 students. Additional adults are encouraged to attend with school groups, and are charged a discounted rate of $7.00 each. There is a minimum charge of $45.00. Admission fees include tax. Standard tours include a multi-media presentation and guided tour of the crane exhibit area. If you would like additional activities, or more staff involved than what is used on the standard tour, additional fees may apply. Examples of non-standard tours include additional guided nature trail tours, radio telemetry demonstrations, etc. Please call if you have special requests to inquire about their availability and cost. Deposits are not required for school or youth groups. Payment may be made upon arrival using MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or a personal check. Tour Reservations If possible, select three potential field trip dates and preferred times. Our schedule fills up quickly, so having several days available helps us customize a schedule that will work for you. Book as early as possible to get your preferred dates. Mornings in April, May and early June are very busy--many schools book their tours a year in advance to ensure their preferred date and time.
