Report a Crane Sighting

If you have seen a banded crane please contact us as soon as possible! ICF studies sandhill cranes in the Briggsville area of central Wisconsin. We are trying to locate our banded birds and learn how far young cranes disperse from their natal areas. Any information, no matter how minimal, is useful.

Indicate the bands seen on the left leg, from the top to bottom. Then indicate bands seen on the right leg, top to bottom (i.e. Left leg: above joint, short red band. No band below joint. Right leg: above joint radio, long green band with number from top to bottom 123. Small silver band below joint.).
