12/6/04: Nearing the Finish Line

The planes and cranes were grounded today due to strong head winds. This will be one of the final stops before the crew reaches its end destination.

Report on previous years' Whooping Cranes:
Tracker Lara Fondow reports that the two cranes previously in Georgia, numbers 4-03 and 11-03 have moved and are most likely between Georgia and Florida.

Two cranes from 2003, numbers 7 and 17 are currently still in South Carolina. Number 7-03 is along the coast of South Carolina, and 17-03 remains in the southeastern part of the state, feeding in a flooded cornfield during the day.
