Current Trip: Fall 2004 Eastern Whooping Crane Migration Entry November 7 11/7/04: Sixteen Cranes in Indiana Sunday, Nov 7, Day 29: They flew! Current location: Morgan County, Indiana. This morning all 14 Whooping Cranes followed Operation Migration's ultralights for the entire distance! Pilot Joe Duff had 11 cranes behind his ultralight, Brooke Pennypacker had two, and Richard van Heuvelen had one crane following him. The cranes and crew are currently in Morgan County, Indiana. Meanwhile, two of last year's cranes, numbers 4-03 and 11-03 are also in south-central Indiana on their way to Florida.  Previous Entry | Next Entry  Back to List
